When we’re blessed with such great weather in Perth, alfresco dining makes a lot of sense. Is there anything better than sitting outdoors on a balmy afternoon and enjoying some great food coupled with great beverages?
Luckily there are plenty of restaurants in Subiaco that allow us to take advantage of Perth’s great weather:
Juanita’s
341 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
A home away from home. Juanita’s is a cosy, relaxed bar with quirky style which makes it a fun spot to enjoy some afterwork drinks or perhaps to bring a date to. The great thing is you can sit in or out. Its casual vibe is coupled with an amazing wine list and delicious share-style dishes that has all the makings of a great evening.
Dilly Dally
87 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
We’re 100% into dilly dallying if it means we can enjoy Rokeby Road’s dreamy leafy canopy with some crazy good wine in hand. For those looking for more European vibes, we suggest embracing your inner Roman and ordering an Aperol Spritz before tucking into some fried potatoes, pork and veal meatballs and a salumi selection to reveal in.
Lady Of Ro
345 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
The Europeans are no strangers to alfresco dining, so it’s no surprise that Lady of Ro’s mediterranean-inspired menu of rustic sharing dishes goes down an absolute treat when enjoyed in their Rokeby Road side outdoor seating area. These guys are also BYO, so next time the weather is good we highly recommend grabbing a bottle of vino (or two) and heading on down for a marvellous meal.
Lulu La Delizia
5/97 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
Having established a reputation as one of the best Italian restaurants in the entire country, we’d happily eat at Lulu if it was seven stories underground in a dingy basement. We’re not even joking here, their food is seriously that good. It’s just an added bonus that they have a lovely little alfresco section on Forrest Walk just off Rokeby Road. Score an outside seat, order some amazing handmade pasta or the chef’s tasting menu, have a wine or two and it’s pretty darn hard to be unhappy with the world.
Refuge Small Bar
5/50 Subiaco Square Rd, Subiaco
Fancy some food and drink before hopping on the train home? Located right next to the train station, Refuge’s lovely outdoor seating area is a favourite amongst local office workers looking for a little post-work relaxation. The bar style seating that faces the station also makes for some of the best people watching in town too. Grab a beverage and some nibbles, and it’s easy to spend hours just watching the world go by.
George’s Meze
26 Denis St, Subiaco
Perth’s mediterranean climate isn’t a million miles away from what you’d experience in Greece, so it’s easy to feel like you’re getting the real deal when tucking into some of George’s delicious Greek style meze sharing dishes. Their leafy, trellised outdoor area is the perfect setting for a lively meal with good friends (and potentially a few ouzos too if folks feel like being really authentic).
Bark
502 Hay St, Subiaco
The self confessed “smallest small bar in town”, Bark is a venue dedicated to the “art of simple things done well and turning down the noise of day to day life.” Whether you’re chasing a cocktail featuring locally produced spirits, a tasty craft beer or a cheeky glass of vino, this cosy little spot with a funky outdoor deck is ideal spot to unwind with loved ones in the great outdoors.
